Located under two miles away from Kemp’s Kamp you’ll find the tourist town of Keystone. With its varying shops situated up and down its Main Street, Keystone is Black Hills’ premiere tourist destination with its optimal proximity to the Hills’ most thrilling sites. While here, make sure to get an old time photo taken and enjoy mouth-watering taffy at the popular taffy shop!
If you’re looking to enjoy a balance of city life and nature you’ll love the town of Rapid City. The second biggest city in the state of South Dakota, Rapid City has no shortage of fun with it delectable assortment of dining options, phenomenal shopping, and various attractions around town. While there, make sure to stop by fun sites like the Journey Museum, Dinosaur Park, and Downtown Rapid City!
Take a drive down the meandering Old Hill City Road and you’ll find the quaint and charming town of Hill City! Here, you can indulge in delicious food at places like Alpine Inn, take a ride on the 1880 Train, or visit cute stores offering all sorts of souvenirs, clothing, and art local to the Black Hills.
Just 36 minutes away from Kemp’s Kamp via Old Hill City Road and US-16 West is the growing town of Custer. Just miles away from Jewel Cave National Memorial, Wind Cave National Park, and stunning Custer State Park, Custer offers something for everyone and offers views that are to die for no matter where you’re at in town!
Once home to the biggest Gold Rush in the world, the Lead-Deadwood area is the epitome of an old west town with its rich history, rustic architecture, and endless adventure. Make sure to visit the Homestake Lab’s Open Cut in Lead, visit Mt. Moriah Cemetery where western legends like Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane are buried, or take a hike up Mt. Roosevelt to the Friendship Tower outside of Deadwood!
If you’re into long hikes, beautiful waterfalls, and delightful dining, Spearfish is a place you’ll have to see to believe. Only one hour away from Kemp’s Kamp, you’ll fawn over Spearfish Canyon, Crow Peak, and the DC Booth Fish Hatchery.
Just over an hour away from Kemp’s Kamp you’ll find the quaint town of Hot Springs, which is continuously bursting at the seams in excitement! From popular sites like the Mammoth Site to the refreshing Evans Plunge, Hot Springs has solved the fun equation offering activities and sites that’ll keep the entire family entertained! While you’re in the area, don’t forget to take a trip to the stunning Cascade Springs just South West of town!
